Forever Tybee

Forever Tybee is a group
of concerned Tybee voters and property owners.

Some of us have been lucky enough to call Tybee home all
our adult lives. Others have lived on Tybee from 3 to 18 years.
Regardless of where we're from or how long we've lived here,
we all share a strong commitment to Tybee's future.

Forever Tybee is registered with the state of Georgia
as a Political Action Committee consistent with Georgia and Federal laws.

While we have a long list of Forever Tybee supporters, our Board of
Directors defines our core values and sets our direction.

These are the members of our Board of Directors:
Freda Rutherford, President
Sandi Postle, Secretary
David Birdwell, Treasurer
Dennis Alexander, Esq.
Lisa Callahan
Sandy Major

About Forever Tybee
The Chatter About Our Board:

You may heard … or wondered ….‘Who are those guys? ’ No, not about Butch Cassidy and
the Sundance Kid…but the Board of Forever Tybee!’  ‘What do they want? What special
interests do they have?’ ‘What experience do they bring?’ ‘Have they paid their dues in
involvement on Tybee?

The Reality:

The Board of Forever Tybee consists of a number of strong conservative Republicans, a
number of strong liberal Democrats, and a number of flexible independents. Though we may
disagree on national politics we all agree that at the local level where we live ….. politics
should be bipartisan. We have seen in this campaign, and previous campaigns, that rumors,
feelings, and past grievances erase civility and good manners … that attitudes get in the
way of facts. When personal grievances become ‘the chatter’ instead of a discussion of the
serious issues and candidate qualifications, we all lose.

We believe that 'the facts' matter more than 'the personal.'

So … without making it personal about us as individuals, here are the facts about the Board
of Forever Tybee:

We are all homeowners and full time residents. Most of us have children and some have
grandchildren. We believe in the “participative democratic process” and that our actions help
keep Tybee a wonderful place to live and to work. We strive to assure that Tybee will always
be a great place for young families to raise their children and for those of all ages to enjoy
the unique natural beauty and the amazing lifestyle that are part of this incredible Island.

Our Board members have rich and diverse backgrounds and work experience. Five are still
working and others are learning to “excel at retirement” after careers in a number of fields.
