The Chatter:

You may have heard that: Having three council members serve on a
committee, or chair a committee is improper, perhaps illegal.

The Reality:

Tybee has had council members serve on committees, even as chairpersons,
for many years. When a quorum (three members) will be present at a meeting,
it is advertised as such. Minutes are kept and are posted on the website.

We can’t think of many better ways to have our elected officials interact with
their constituency than by serving together for the good of the City.

This website has been prepared in an attempt to promote open and honest government in the city of Tybee Island
and to endorse those candidates that share our commitment.

Every effort has been made to present only factual and verifiable information which Tybee citizens may (or may not)
choose to consider, including the decision not to read this website.
These efforts notwithstanding, we encourage input from visitors and welcome corrections if errors are found.

We believe in the principles and rights guaranteed by the founders of our nation that every citizen has the
inalienable right of self-expression and the right to be heard by their elected government.

If you have any concerns about factual information on our website please forward your concerns to:
Forever-Tybee
and we will address those concerns as soon as possible.

Having three council members serve on a committee, or chair a committee,
is legal and advantageous for the City.
Around this time, every couple of years, folks on Tybee Island are bombarded with all
kinds of myths, misstatements and downright wrong information. This is usually related
to local campaigns and is generally an attempt to create issues where there may be
none.

In an attempt to address some of the current topics that are out there, Forever Tybee
members have researched and compiled the following information stating the myths
and the truth.
