        direct involvement in the day-to-day operations of the City.

and to endorse those candidates that share our commitment.

About Our Core Beliefs

As registered voters and/or property owners of the City of Tybee Island,
we believe that City Council members must represent the best interests
of the whole community by honoring their oath of office and
demonstrating ethical, open and transparent government by:

About this 2010-11 Council

In the last election, 4 out of 5 of the candidates backed by Forever Tybee
were elected to City Council, and the fifth now sits on the Planning
Commission.  



This City Council has:

* Handled ethics inquiries with transparency and expediency
* Listened to and acted on citizen concerns

* Implemented the Memorial Park energy plan
* Enabled water and energy savings
* Converted off-road city vehicles to bio-diesel fuel
* Permitted the use of street legal golf carts and similar vehicles

* Supported the City Manager form of government
* Revived the Historical Commission
* Initiated steps to protect our beach and dwellings through a meaningful
local “Shore Protection Ordinance"
* Reined in expenditures and kept Tybee solvent
* Achieved recognition of Tybee as a Bicycle Friendly community

The 2011 Tybee mayor and council election looms large on the horizon. For
the first time, we will be electing a mayor and half our council members to 4 -
year terms. Your choices will determine whether Tybee continues to be the
wonderful place to live that we all enjoy.


Forever Tybee is a political action committee formed by Tybee residents
who are concerned 
about maintaining an ethical, open and transparent city
government and who support candidates who embrace these values.

Forever Tybee will champion ethical, open, and transparent government by
identifying and supporting candidates for city council  who will embrace our
core values in an ethical and honest manner. The organization will also
identify issues, research facts and share facts with the electorate
so they can make intelligent decisions when voting.
